The foreshore at high tide. Salty air that slides and swirls, wrinkled waters where the seal, this morning, showed its beautiful head, its muzzle. Everything is covered and sparkling, except for the big rocks that have been lying here and there for I don't know how long, and born like us from some star.
–Isabelle Miron

The foreshore was born from the meeting between the poet Isabelle Miron, the composer Sébastien Sauvageau and the foreshore of the St. Lawrence River, this area of the shore discovered and covered to the rhythm of the tides.

Isabelle's words recount the foreshore and call for the dissolution of the boundaries between eras and the beings who have shaped and shape this ecosystem. The poetic suite invites you to really see, feel and hear what lives there. Here, large rocks, born like us from some star, rub shoulders with what the tides bring and take from moon to moon; children look for “clams” with both feet in the flats passing by the very place where, in the 18th century, Marie Caresse ran the Auberge du repos, a place where unfortunate travelers mysteriously disappeared.

Bringing together traditional tunes from Quebec and contemporary sounds close to the soundscape and jazz, the trio made up of violinist Dâvi Simard, drummer Mili Hong and Sauvageau on guitar and other instruments also crosses borders. Through its rich timbres, the ensemble creates a veritable musical poetry that prolongs the words of the river carried by Miron.

A bewitching work that brings wonder and humility to the grandeur of the St. Lawrence and the foreshore, a veritable quay of all departures and all arrivals.
